Para pré-visualizar, você precisa de um navegador de rede que possa acessar arquivos locais dados na linha de comando. Para PHP ou Python, bluefish suporta php-codesniffer e pylint. Ferramentas não sugeridas, mas suportadas, são make, perl, php5-cli e java-compiler.

Se você não planeja construir pacotes Debian, você não precisa deste pacote. A partir do dpkg (>= 1.14.18) este pacote é requerido para construir pacotes Debian.

crystal-facet-uml creates sysml/uml diagrams to document system and software architecture.

Thonny is a simple Python IDE with features useful for learning programming.

It comes with a debugger which is able to visualize all the conceptual steps taken to run a Python program (executing statements, evaluating expressions, maintaining the call stack). There is a GUI for installing 3rd party packages and special mode for learning about references.
