  • Antique Photo Border Script: This script simulates a yellowed and slightly jagged border like these of old photographies.
  • Che Guevara Script: This script generates a poster like the famous Che Guevara one from Jim Fitzpatrick.
  • Cyanotype Script: This script simulates the Cyanotype printing process.
  • Difference Layer Script This script generates two difference layers from the two layers on the top. It's similar to GIMP's built-in Grain Extract/Merge function, but the tonal range is bigger. Now you can apply further editing and "switch on/off" the adjustment by switching the visibility of the subtractive and the additive layer. Also you can change the modification intensity by changing the intensity of these two layers.

• refocus (0.9.1): Refocus The GIMP plugin to refocus images using FIR Wiener filtering. During image processing operations such as scanning and scaling, images tend to get blurry. The blurred impression of these images is due to the fact that image pixels are averaged with their neighbors. Blurred images don't have sharp boundaries and look as though they have been taken with an unfocused camera.
• resynthesizer (2.0): Resynthesizer Gimp plugin for texture synthesis This gimp plugin takes samples of textures, and synthesizes larger textures from them. It can be used to extend textures (including making tileable textures), remove objects from textures, and make themed images.
• safe-for-web (0.29.0): Save for Web Allows to experiment with various popular web format options. It shows an automatically updated preview and file size statistics.
• separate+ (0.5.8): Separate+ Separate+ is a plug-in that generates color separations from an RGB image, proofs CMYK colors on the monitor and exports the CMYK TIFF file.

• streak (0.6): Streak-Camera simulation A streak camera images an object through a slit - thus getting a "one dimensional image". This image is propagated along the second dimension of the image plane at a constant speed. The result is a picture of the time dependency of the object.
• traditional-orton: Traditional Orton: This is an effect invented by Michael Orton in the 1990s, which consists of taking two copies of an image, one blurred, and one sharp, and mixing them to produce an image with a dreamy quality. It is especially well suited to landscape and flower photography.
• wavelet-decompose (0.1.2): Wavelet Decompose The wavelet decompose plugin decomposes a layer of an image into layers of wavelet scales. This means that you can edit the image on different detail scales (frequencies). The trivial recomposition of the image can be done by GIMP's layer modes so you can see the results of your modifications instantly. Among the applications are retouching, noise reduction, and enhancing global contrast.
• wavelet-denoise (0.3.1): Wavelet Denoise The wavelet denoise plugin is a tool to selectively reduce noise in individual channels of an image with optional RGB<->YCbCr conversion. It has a user interface to adjust the amount of denoising applied. The wavelet nature of the algorithm makes the processing quite fast.

Agave ist eine sehr einfache Anwendung für die GNOME-Arbeitsfläche, die es Ihnen erlaubt, eine Vielzahl von Farbschemata aus einer einzigen Startfarbe zu erstellen.

Blender ist eine integrierte 3D-Suite für die Modellierung, Animation, Rendering, Postproduktion sowie interaktive Erstellung und Wiedergabe (z.B. Spiele). Blender hat seine eigene, spezielle Benutzeroberfläche, die vollständing in OpenGL implementiert ist, wobei Wert auf Geschwindigkeit gelegt wurde. Zur Steuerung durch Skripte sind Anbindungen an Python verfügbar; Import/Export-Fähigkeiten für gängige Dateiformate wie 3D Studio und Wavefront-Obj sind als Skripte von der Community implementiert. Unbewegte Szenen, Animationen, Modelle für Spiele und andere Engines, sowie interaktive Inhalte in Form von eigenen Programmen sind gängige Ergebnisse der Arbeit mit Blender.

Enblend ist ein Werkzeug, welches mehrere Bilder zu einem zusammenfasst. Ein Satz von Bildern, die sich unregelmäßig überlappen, werden von Enblend so überlagert, dass die Naht zwischen den Bildern unsichtbar (oder zumindest sehr schwer zu erkennen) ist. Man kann mit ihm beispielsweise aus mehreren Bildern ein Panorama erstellen.

Es verwendet einen Burt&Adelson-Spline mit variabler Auflösung. Diese Technik versucht, die Nähte zwischen den Eingangs-Bildern unsichtbar zu machen. Die Grundidee ist, dass Bildmerkmale in einer Übergangszone, deren Größe proportional zur räumliche Frequenz der Merkmale ist, gemischt werden sollten. Objekte wie Bäume und Fensterscheiben haben beispielsweise schnelle Farbveränderungen. Durch eine Kombination dieser Merkmale in einer schmalen Zone können Sie die Naht nicht sehen, weil das Auge bereits Farbänderungen an ihren Rändern erwartet. Wolken und Himmel sind das Gegenteil. Diese Komponenten müssen in einer breiten Übergangszone gemischt werden, weil jede plötzliche Farbveränderung sofort auffällt.

Enblend richtet die Bilder nicht für Sie aus. Verwenden Sie dafür ein Werkzeug wie Hugin oder PanoTools. Enblend ist speziell für die Arbeit mit den von diesen Programmen erzeugten TIFFs ausgelegt.

F-Spot ist ein voll ausgestattetes persönliches Foto-Verwaltungsprogramm für den GNOME-Desktop. Es vereinfacht die digitale Fotografie durch die Bereitstellung intuitiver Werkzeuge, die Ihnen bei der gemeinsamen Nutzung, dem Verbessern, Durchsuchen und der Organisation Ihrer Bilder helfen. F-Spot ermöglicht den Import bereits bestehender Fotosammlungen, kann Fotos mit Markierungen versehen und einfache Bearbeitungsvorgänge durchführen (z.B. Rotieren).

FontForge ist nicht nur ein Editor für Schriften. Er kann auch PostScript (ASCII und Binär-Typ 1, einige Typ 3, einige Typ 0), TrueType, OpenType (Typ 2), CID-indizierte, SVG, CFF und Multiple Master Fonts ineinander umwandeln.

Dieses Paket enthält außerdem diese Programme und Werkzeuge:

  fontimage - erzeugt ein kleines Übersichtsbild der Schrift;
  fontlint  - überprüft die Schrift auf bestimmte verbreitete Fehler;
  sfddiff   - vergleicht zwei Schriftdateien.

fontmatrix ist ein Verwaltungswerkzeug mit den Möglichkeiten und Fähigkeiten, die Grafikdesigner, professionelle Layouter und andere von ihrer Software erwarten. Und es gibt ein paar fortschrittliche Aspekte.

fontmatrix folgt dem Konzept der Markierung. Das macht es einfach, Schriften zu gruppieren und sie sogar logisch noch weiter zu unterteilen, beispielsweise für den Gebrauch in einem Buch. Die grafische Benutzerschnittstelle bietet viele Möglichkeiten: Die Anzeige aller Zeichen einer Schrift, Vorschauen von Beispieltext, stufenlose Größenänderung und Informationen zu den fortgeschrittenen Open-Type-Möglichkeiten einer Schrift. Diese Möglichkeiten hat es noch nie außerhalb eines Schrifteditors gegeben. Außerdem erzeugt es hübsche, zum Druck oder zur Referenz geeignete PDF-Kataloge der vorhandenen Schriften. Kurz, fontmatrix ist eine Schriftenverwaltung für Profis, aber er ist nett und benutzerfreundlich.

Mit Hugin können Sie Panoramabilder zusammensetzen (Stitching). Im Prinzip ist Hugin ein GUI-Frontend für die Panorama Tools. Für das Zusammensetzen werden mehrere überlappende, vom gleichen Ort gemachte Einzelaufnahmen benötigt. Dabei werden diese Fotos unter Verwendung von Kontrollpunkten bzw. Schnittpunkten angeordnet und angepasst, um sie später zu einem Panoramabild zu verbinden. Hugin ermöglicht das einfache Erstellen von Kontrollpunkten zwischen zwei Bildern, die Optimierung der Bildtransformationen und vieles mehr.

Dieses Paket enthält die folgenden grafischen Oberflächen für die Befehlszeilenwerkzeuge des Pakets »hugin-tools«:

Inkscape is an illustration editor which has everything needed to create professional-quality computer art. You can use it to make diagrams and illustrations, technical drawings, web graphics, clip art, icons and logos. A collection of hands-on tutorials show you how to combine lines, shapes and text of different types and styles to build up a picture.

A selection of powerful vector graphics editing tools comes as standard. There is excellent support for paths, gradients, layers, alpha transparency and text flow control. An extensive library of filters allow you to apply realistic effects and extensions allow you to work with bitmaps, barcodes and printing marks, amongst other things.

Most of the common vector formats are supported, including PDF, Adobe Illustrator and AutoCAD files, and it has unrivalled support for the SVG web graphics standard.

Between the suggested packages:

• dia: to export Dia shapes;
• libsvg-perl: to import .txt files (txt2svg extension);
• libxml-xql-perl: to use the shadow effect;
• python-uniconvertor: enables several import/export extensions;
• pstoedit: to work with eps files;
• ruby: there are several extensions written in ruby;

Dieses Paket fügt einen »Bildgröße anpassen ...«-Eintrag zum Kontextmenü aller Bilder hinzu. Dieser öffnet ein Fenster, in welchem die gewünschte Größe und der Dateiname eingetragen wird. Pstoedit konvertiert PostScript- und PDF-Dateien in verschiedene, editierbare Vektorgrafikformate, z.B. tgif, xfig, PDF-Grafiken, Gnuplot-Format, idraw, MetaPost, GNU Metafile, PIC, Kontour und »flaches« PostScript.

Scribus is an open source desktop page layout program with the aim of producing commercial grade output in PDF and Postscript.

Scribus can be used for many tasks; from brochure design to newspapers, magazines, newsletters and posters to technical documentation.

Scribus supports professional DTP features, such as CMYK color and a color management system to soft proof images for high quality color printing, flexible PDF creation options, Encapsulated PostScript import/export and creation of 4 color separations, import of EPS/PS and SVG as native vector graphics, Unicode text including right to left scripts such as Arabic and Hebrew via freetype. Graphic formats which can be placed in Scribus as images include PDF, Encapsulated Post Script (eps), TIFF, JPEG, PNG and XPixMap(xpm), and any bitmap type supported by QT4.

If you need to use the render frame install the texlive-latex-recommended package (suggested).

Xsane kann alleinstehend oder zusammen mit GIMP (GNU-Bildmanipulationsprogramm) eingesetzt werden. Im ersteren Fall kann xsane Bilder verschiedener Formate in Dateien speichern, als Schnittstelle zu einem Faxprogramm dienen oder ein Bild an den Drucker schicken.

SANE (Scanner Access Now Easy) ist ein API (Application Programming Interface), das einen standardisierten Zugriff auf alle Arten von Raster-Bild-Scannern wie Flachbettscanner, Handheldscanner, Video- und Fotokameras, Frame-Grabber usw. erlaubt. Der SANE-Standard ist freie Software, deren Diskussion und Weiterentwicklung jedem offen steht. Der Quellcode ist für die Unterstützung verschiedener Betriebssysteme, einschließlich GNU/Linux, OS/2, Win32 und vieler Unixe geschrieben und ist unter der GNU General Public License verfügbar (wobei kommerzielle Anwendungen und Backends ebenso willkommen sind).

Yafray (Yet Another Free RAYtracer) is an advanced raytracing rendering system with many modern features including full radiosity and High Dynamic Range Imaging (HDRI) for scene lighting. It reads a simple XML-based scene definition file, and can be used as a renderer for Blender.
