AVCE00 jest biblioteką C i grupą narzędzi, które sprawiają, że (binarne) relacje wektorowe Arcinfo (ang. Arcinfo Vector Coverages) pojawiają się w formacie E00. Pozwala na odczytywanie i zapisywanie binarnych relacji tak, jak gdyby były plikami w formacie E00.

E00compr is an ANSI C library that reads and writes Arcinfo compressed E00 files. Both "PARTIAL" and "FULL" compression levels are supported. E00 files are the vector import/export format for Arcinfo. It is plain ASCII and is meant as an interchange format. ESRI considers the format to be proprietary, so this package may not read all E00 files as ESRI may change the format.

This package is useful for importing E00 files into the grass GIS system.

It contains the e00conv command-line program, which takes a E00 file as input (compressed or not) and copies it to a new file with the requested compression level (NONE, PARTIAL or FULL). The library is not included at this stage.

Epsilon to biblioteka w jęz. C do kompresji stratnej obrazu opartej na metodzie Wavelet. Narzędzia kompresujące korzystające z metody Wavelet są znacznie bardziej skuteczne niż te tradycyjne bazujące na DCT (jak np. JPEG).

Obecnie program obsługuje około 30 różnych filtrów typu Wavelet, działa równolegle w środowiskach wielowątkowych i MPI, może przetwarzać duże obrazy i nie tylko.

Ten pakiet zawiera przydatne narzędzia do kompresji/dekompresji obrazów.

The related OGR library (which lives within the GDAL source tree) provides a similar capability for simple features vector data.

GDAL supports 40+ popular data formats, including commonly used ones (GeoTIFF, JPEG, PNG and more) as well as the ones used in GIS and remote sensing software packages (ERDAS Imagine, ESRI Arc/Info, ENVI, PCI Geomatics). Also supported many remote sensing and scientific data distribution formats such as HDF, EOS FAST, NOAA L1B, NetCDF, FITS.

OGR library supports popular vector formats like ESRI Shapefile, TIGER data, S57, MapInfo File, DGN, GML and more.

This package contains utility programs, based on GDAL/OGR library, namely gdal_translate, gdalinfo, gdaladdo, gdalwarp, ogr2ogr, ogrinfo, ogrtindex.

Stanowi odpowiedni zamiennik podstawowej funkcjonalności dostarczanej przez NGA Geotrans.

Pakiet zawiera kilka podstawowych narzędzi opartych na bibliotece GeographicLib.

GeoIP to biblioteka C, która umożliwia użytkownikowi znalezienie kraju, z którego pochodzi dowolny adres IP lub nazwa hosta. Wykorzystuje ona bazę danych opartą na plikach.

Ta baza danych zawiera po prostu bloki adresów IP jako klucze i kraje jako wartości, dlatego powinna być pełniejsza i dokładniejsza niż korzystanie z odwrotnego wyszukiwania DNS.

Pakiet zawiera narzędzia wiersza poleceń, które umożliwiają rozpoznawanie numerów IP przy użyciu biblioteki GeoIP.

Biblioteka napisana w języku C, obsługująca oparty na TIFF 6.0 format wymiany georeferencyjnych obrazów rastrowych. Standard GeoTIFF został opracowany do odczytywania i zapisywania tagów z meta-informacjami geograficznymi na bazie rastra TIFF.

Biblioteka GeoTIFF udostępnia tutaj dwa programy narzędziowe:

GMT to zbiór narzędzi umożliwiających użytkownikom zarządzanie zbiorami danych (x, y) i (x, y, z) (w tym: filtrowanie, dopasowywanie trendów, tworzenie siatki, rzutowanie itp.) oraz tworzenie ilustracji w formacie Encapsulated PostScript File (EPS) w zakresie od prostych wykresów x-y, poprzez mapy konturowe, po sztucznie oświetlone powierzchnie i trójwymiarowe widoki perspektywiczne w czerni i bieli, odcieniach szarości, wzorach opartych na kreskach (hachure) i 24-bitowym kolorze.

GMT obsługuje wiele popularnych projekcji map oraz skalowanie liniowe, logarytmiczne i potęgowe, a także dostarcza dane pomocnicze, takie jak: linie brzegowe, rzeki i granice polityczne.

Pakiet Tcl, który zapewnia możliwość tworzenia i odczytywania plików w formacie ESRI Shapefile do przechowywania 2 lub 3 wymiarowych punktów i wielolinii.

Został on opracowany do użycia w GPSMan, menedżerze danych odbiornika GPS i opiera się na module shapelib. Wraz z tym pakietem opracowano także gpstr2shp.c, który konwertuje pliki danych GPStrans do formatu Shapefile.

Grace jest narzędziem typu wskaż-i-kliknij, umożliwiającym użytkownikowi rysowanie wykresów X-Y. Program był wcześniej znany jako Xmgr.

Niektóre z jego funkcji: skalowanie zdefiniowane przez użytkownika, zaznaczanie odstępów na osi, etykiety, symbole, style linii, kolory, regresja wielomianowa, krzywe sklejane, obliczanie średnich kroczących, transformatory DFT/FFT, korelacja wzajemna/autokorelacja, tryb wsadowy pozwalający na bezobsługowe kreślenie oraz obsługa drukowania do formatu PostScript, FrameMaker i kilku formatów graficznych.

System informacji geograficznej (GIS) znany również jako GRASS jest systemem używanym do zarządzania i analizy danymi geograficzno-przestrzennymi, przetwarzania obrazów, produkcji grafiki/map, modelowania przestrzennego oraz wizualizacji. GRASS jest obecnie używany na całym świecie w zastosowaniach akademickich i komercyjnych, jak również w wielu agencjach rządowych czy firmach doradzających w sprawach środowiska.

Należy zainstalować ten pakiet wirtualny, aby uzyskać pełny system GRASS.

HDF5 (Hierarchical Data Format 5) jest formatem pliku do przechowywania danych naukowych. Niżej wymienione narzędzia umożliwiają konwersję innych formatów na HDF5 oraz wizualizację plików HDF5. Są to:

• h5topng, który wyodrębnia fragment 2d pliku HDF5 i wyświetla odpowiedni obraz w formacie PNG;

• h5tovtk, który konwertuje pliki HDF5 na pliki VTK w celu wizualizacji za pomocą programów obsługujących VTK.

GeographicLib is a small set of C++ classes for converting between geographic, UTM, UPS, MGRS, geocentric, and local cartesian coordinates, for geoid calculations, and for computing geodesic. It is a suitable replacement for the core functionality provided by NGA Geotrans.

This package contains the files used to develop applications that use the GeographicLib library.

JTS is a java library which provides:

• an implementation of the spatial data model defined in the OGC Simple Features Specification for SQL (SFS)
• a complete, consistent, implementation of fundamental 2D spatial algorithms
• an explicit precision model, with algorithms that gracefully handle situations that result in dimensional collapse
• robust implementations of key computational geometric operations
• I/O in Well-Known Text format

libLAS is a C/C++ library for reading and writing ASPRS LAS versions 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2 data. The LAS format is a sequential binary format used to store data from sensors and as intermediate processing storage by some LiDAR-related applications. LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) is an optical remote sensing technology that measures properties of scattered light to find range and/or other information of a distant target. The prevalent method to determine distance to an object or surface is to use laser pulses.

This package contains the essential toolset to manage LiDAR data: lasinfo, lasmerge, las2las, las2txt, txt2las, las2ogr.

The Shapefile format is a working and interchange format promoted by ESRI for simple vector data with attributes. It is apparently the only file format that can be edited in ARCView 2/3, and can also be exported and imported in ArcGis.

This package includes the development files.

OGDI is the Open Geographic Datastore Interface. OGDI is an application programming interface (API) that uses a standardized access methods to work in conjunction with GIS software packages (the application) and various geospatial data products. OGDI uses a client/server architecture to facilitate the dissemination of geospatial data products over any TCP/IP network, and a driver-oriented approach to facilitate access to several geospatial data products/formats.

This package contains some useful tools based on the OGDI library

Just create a simple XML file, point it at your imagery, elevation, and vector data, load it into your favorite OSG application, and go! osgEarth supports all kinds of data and comes with lots of examples to help you get up and running quickly and easily.

Open Source Software Image Map (OSSIM) is a high performance engine for remote sensing, image processing, geographical information systems and photogrammetry. It has been actively developed since 1996.

Designed as a series of high performance software libraries, it is written in C++ employing the latest techniques in object-oriented software design.

The library provides advanced remote sensing, image processing, and geo-spatial functionality. A quick summary of OSSIM functionality includes ortho-rectification, precision terrain correction, rigorous sensor models, very large mosaics, and cross sensor fusions, a wide range of map projections and datums, and a large range of commercial and government data formats. The architecture of the library supports parallel processing with mpi (not enabled), a dynamic plugin architecture, and dynamically connectable objects allowing rapid prototyping of custom image processing chains.

This package includes core tools that use the OSSIM library to perform some basic tasks.

Support is included for input files of LAS, LAZ, SBET, BPF, QFIT and others. PDAL can also read from and write to databases that support point cloud storage, including Oracle, Postgres and SQLite.

PDAL should not be confused with PCL (Point Cloud Library). PCL is a library specifically designed to provide algorithmic analysis and modification of point clouds. PDAL provides a limited interface to the facilities of PCL, but does not in general attempt to duplicate its capabilities.

This package contains the PDAL utilities.

Pktools to zbiór programów do wykonywania działań, głównie na geolokalizowanych obrazach rastrowych. Pktools w znacznym stopniu opiera się na bibliotece Geospatial Data Abstraction Library (GDAL) i OGR. Programy są podobne do narzędzi GDAL (gdalinfo, gdal_translate, gdal_merge, ...) a niektóre funkcje zawarte w pktools już istnieją w narzędziach GDAL.

Wszystkie narzędzia zawarte w pktools używają opcji wiersza poleceń i posiadają wbudowaną pomoc. PostGIS dodaje obsługę obiektów geograficznych do obiektowo-relacyjnej bazy danych PostgreSQL. W rezultacie PostGIS "uprzestrzennia" serwer PostgreSQL, umożliwiając używanie go w roli backendu przestrzennej bazy danych w systemach informacji geograficznych (GIS), podobnie do SDE ESRI lub rozszerzenia Spatial firmy Oracle. Program pprepair (planar partition repair - naprawa partycji planarnej) pobiera zestaw wielokątów i zapewnia, że utworzą one prawidłową partycję planarną, wykonaną z prawidłowych wielokątów i nie posiadającą przerw ani zachodzących na siebie warstw. Program może być używany jako walidator, informujący o problemach w poszczególnych wielokątach lub w partycji planarnej, a także jako narzędzie do automatycznej naprawy, wysyłające zestaw wielokątów, które tworzą prawidłową partycję planarną.

Prepair pozwala na łatwą naprawę „uszkodzonych” wielokątów GIS, i to zgodnie z międzynarodowymi standardami ISO 19107. W skrócie, dany wielokąt przechowywany w WKT zostanie automatycznie naprawiony i zwrócony prawidłowy WKT. Zautomatyzowane metody naprawy można uznać jako interpretowanie niejednoznacznych lub źle zdefiniowanych wielokątów i dawanie zgodnego, jasno określonego wyjścia.

Proj and invproj perform respective forward and inverse transformation of cartographic data to or from Cartesian data with a wide range of selectable projection functions (over 100 projections).

Geod and invgeod perform geodesic (Great Circle) computations for determining latitude, longitude and back azimuth of a terminus point given a initial point latitude, longitude, azimuth and distance (direct) or the forward and back azimuths and distance between an initial and terminus point latitudes and longitudes (inverse).

This package provides the PROJ binary tools.

Fiona can read and write real-world data using multi-layered GIS formats and zipped virtual file systems and integrates readily with other Python GIS packages such as pyproj, Rtree, and Shapely.

This package is a utility library to work with geospatial links. It is an implementation of the Cat-Interop work described at https://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Cat-Interop

This package provides the Python 2 version of the library.

GeoPandas is a project to add support for geographic data to pandas objects. It currently implements GeoSeries and GeoDataFrame types which are subclasses of pandas.Series and pandas.DataFrame respectively. GeoPandas objects can act on shapely geometry objects and perform geometric operations.

GeoPandas geometry operations are cartesian. The coordinate reference system (crs) can be stored as an attribute on an object, and is automatically set when loading from a file. Objects may be transformed to new coordinate systems with the to_crs() method. There is currently no enforcement of like coordinates for operations, but that may change in the future.

This package contains the Python 2 version of the library.

Mapnik is an OpenSource C++ toolkit for developing GIS (Geographic Information Systems) applications. At the core is a C++ shared library providing algorithms/patterns for spatial data access and visualization.

Essentially a collection of geographic objects (map, layer, datasource, feature, geometry), the library doesn't rely on "windowing systems" and is intended to work in multi-threaded environments

This package contains the bindings for Python 2.

PDAL is a BSD licensed library for translating and manipulating point cloud data of various formats. PDAL can be used to read, write and translate point cloud data in many formats. Support is included for input files of LAS, LAZ, SBET, BPF, QFIT and others. PDAL can also read from and write to databases that support point cloud storage, including Oracle, Postgres and SQLite.

This package contains the PDAL extension for Python 2.

PROJ performs cartographic transformations between geographic (lat/lon) and map projection (x/y) coordinates. It can also transform directly from one map projection coordinate system to another.

This is a Python binding to PROJ, it can receive coordinates as numpy arrays, Python arrays, lists or scalars. This module is optimized for numpy arrays.

PySAL is an open source library of spatial analysis functions written in Python intended to support the development of high level applications.

It is important to underscore what PySAL is, and is not, designed to do. First and foremost, PySAL is a library in the fullest sense of the word. Developers looking for a suite of spatial analytical methods that they can incorporate into application development should feel at home using PySAL. Spatial analysts who may be carrying out research projects requiring customized scripting, extensive simulation analysis, or those seeking to advance the state of the art in spatial analysis should also find PySAL to be a useful foundation for their work.

End users looking for a user friendly graphical user interface for spatial analysis should not turn to PySAL directly. Instead, they should consider projects like STARS and the GeoDaX suite of software products which wrap PySAL functionality in GUIs. At the same time, it's expected that with developments such as the Python based plug-in architectures for QGIS, GRASS, and the toolbox extensions for ArcGIS, that end user access to PySAL functionality will be widening in the near future.

pyspatialite is an interface to the SQLite 3.x embedded relational database engine with spatialite extensions.

It is almost fully compliant with the Python database API version 2.0 and also exposes the unique features of SQLite and spatialite.

Shapely is a package for manipulation and analysis of 2D features. Its capabilities include:

This is the Python 2 version of the package.

This library parses S-expressions using numpy. Available function include arithmetic and logical operators. Also members of the numpy module such as "asarray()", "mean()" and "where" are available.

Stetl, streaming ETL, pronounced "staedl", is a lightweight ETL-framework for the conversion of rich (as GML) geospatial data conversion.

It basically glues together existing parsing and transformation tools like GDAL/OGR (ogr2ogr) and XSLT. By using native tools like libxml and libxslt (via Python lxml) Stetl is speed-optimized.

Stetl has a similar design as Spring (Java) and other modern frameworks based on IoC (Inversion of Control). A configuration file (in Python config format) specifies your chain of ETL steps. This chain is formed by a series of Python modules/objects and their parameters. These are symbolically specified in the config file. You just invoke etl.py the main program with a config file. The config file specifies the input modules (e.g. PostGIS), transformers (e.g. XSLT) and outputs (e.g. a GML file or even WFS-T a geospatial protocol to publish GML to a server).
