Głównym celem tego projektu jest ułatwienie korzystania ze starszych
aplikacji, nie obsługiwanych przez aktywny system JACK MIDI. a2jmidid to
demon, który realizuje automatyczne przerzucanie połączeń. Dla każdego
portu sekwensera ALSA pojawia się jeden port MIDI. Jeśli port sekwensera
ALSA jest zarówno wejściem i wyjściem, to uzyskuje się dwa porty MIDI,
czyli jedno wejście i jedno wyjście.

JACK keyboard jest programem, który pozwala na wysyłanie zdarzeń JACK MIDI
(grania ;-) używając klawiatury komputera. Jest trochę podobny do vkeybd,
podstawową różnicą między nimi jest to, że używa JACK MIDI zamiast ALSA, a
jego domyślne mapowanie klawiszy jest dużo lepsze - używa takiego samego
układu jak trackery (np. Impulse Tracker), dzięki czemu użytkownik ma do
dyspozycji dwie i pół oktawy.

Qtractor is a MIDI/Audio multi-track sequencer application written
in C++ around the Qt4 toolkit using Qt Designer.
The Jack Audio Connection Kit (JACK) for audio, and the Advanced Linux
Sound Architecture (ALSA) for MIDI, are the main infrastructures to
evolve as a fairly-featured Linux Desktop Audio Workstation GUI, especially
dedicated to the personal home-studio.
