Hydrogen jest zaawansowanym automatem perkusyjnym. Jego głównym celem jest dostarczenie profesjonalnego a zarazem prostego oraz intuicyjnego, opartego na wzorcach narzędzia do programowania perkusji.

Ogólne właściwości:

  • Bardzo łatwy w obsłudze, modularny, szybki i intuicyjny interfejs graficzny oparty na QT 4.
  • Stereofoniczny silnik audio oparty na próbkach z importem próbek dźwiękowych w formatach: .WAV, .Au i .AIFF.
  • Obsługa próbek w skompresowanym pliku FLAC.

Właściwości sekwencera i miksera:

  • Oparty o wzorce sekwencer, z nieograniczoną liczbą wzorców i możliwości łączenia wzorców w utwory.
  • Do 64 taktów na wzór z indywidualnym poziomem dźwięku zdarzenia i zmienną długością wzorca.
  • 32 ścieżki instrumentalne z regulacją siły dźwięku, możliwością wyciszania, odtwarzaniem solowym, orientacją (w prawo, w lewo).
  • Obsługa wielu warstw instrumentów (do 16 próbek na każdy instrument).
  • Możliwość importowania/eksportowania plików utworów.
  • Funkcje nadawania unikalnej dla człowieka szybkości tempa, tempa używanego przez człowieka, wysokości tonów i Swing-u.
  • Równoczesne odtwarzanie wielu wzorców.

  • Sterowniki audio do JACK, ALSA, PortAudio i OSS.

Seq24 was created to provide a very simple interface for editing and playing midi 'loops'. It is a very minimal sequencer that excludes the bloated features of the large software sequencers and includes a small subset that proved to be useful for live performances.
