Kaffeine ist ein Programm zur Medienwiedergabe für KDE auf Grundlage von
VLC. Es unterstützt zahlreiche Medienformate, sodaß sehr einfach auf CDs,
DVDs und Netzwerkstreams zugegriffen werden kann. Daneben bietet es eine
exzellente Unterstützung für Digitalfernsehen (DVB).
Kaffeine kann mehrere Wiedergabelisten gleichzeitig verwalten und
Untertiteldateien, deren Inhalte während der Videowiedergabe eingeblendet
werden, automatisch laden.

maim (make image) takes screenshots of your desktop. It has options
to take only a region, and relies on another program called slop to
query the user for regions using the graphical interface.
maim is command line tool that is supposed to be an improved scrot.
